Academic year: 2018-19
- A Student Exchange Program was held on 22-6-2019. Altogether 21 students from BA 3rd Sem (M) of Pub Kamrup College and 7 students from Saraighat College under the supervision of Mr. Navajyoti Patowary, Assoc. Professor and HOD of the Dept. of English partticipated in the program. The program also included three academic sessions. In the Academic session I Miss. Vipasha Bharadwaj, Asstt. Prof. of the Dept. of English, Pub Kamrup College, talked on “Personality Development”. In the Academic session II Mr. Navajyoti Patowary Assoc. Professor and HOD of the Dept. of English. Saraighat College talked on Hopkins; poetry. In the last session Dr. Dipen Bezbaruah, HoD of the Dept. of English, Pub Kamrup College talked on ‘Smart Phone: Addiction, Necessity and Prudence”. The Valedictory session was graced by Dr. B. K. Dev Choudhury, the Principal of Pub Kamrup College.
STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM ON 22-6-2019
- The Navajyoti Bhattacharya Memorial Lecture cum Conferring of Navajyoti Bhattacharya Memorial Merit Award was held on 01-02-2019. This year Dr. Naranginti Amareswaran Reddy, Asstt. Professor, Dept. of Education, North Eastern Hills University was invited to talk on a topic entitled “Introducing Blended and Digital learning”. The Navajyoti Bhattacharya Memorial merit award was conferred to Miss. Chandramita Kalita of the Dept. of English.

STUDENTS ATTENDING THE SYMPOSIUM
A Symposium of TDC 3rdSemester (Major) was organized on 18-09-2018. The seminar was held in the E. Resource center of Pub Kamrup College. The students of the respective class presented their papers according to the module set by the supervisor, Mr. Dipen Bezbaruah, HoD, English. The students were divided into six groups and each group presented their papers on six different aspects of Victorian novel.
These are: CONTEXT OF THE VICTORIAN NOVEL, CHARLES DICKENS AS A NOVELIST, NOVELS OF BRONTE SISTERS, THOMAS HARDY AND VICTORIAN NOVEL, VICTORIAN NOVEL- A GENERAL INTRODUCTION AND GEORGE ELIOT AND FEMINIST PERSPECTIVES.

The Department of English, Pub Kamrup College, as a part of its student seminar series, had organized a seminar for the 3rd semester students on 19.03.2021. The topic of the seminar was “English Literature: Contexts and Perspectives”. Mr. Montu Saikia had presented an engaging and insightful talk on “Literature: Background and Perspective, A New Historicist Dialogue”. His presentation was followed by Dr. Dipen Bezbaruah’s enlightening talk on “Interlinking of context and content in English Literature down the Ages”. The seminar was a collective effort of the Department of English and it had an inquisitive audience. A total of 30 students from the 3rd semester had presented their paper which was followed by an interactive session. Other participants in the seminar were the students of 1st Sem (CBCS).

Resolutions:
- Mentoring: Dr. D. Bezbaruah will be the mentor of 4th Sem Students, Montu Saikis will be the mentor of 6th Sem students and Vipasga Bhardwaj will mentor the 2nd Sem students.
- Department would take up some doubt clearing classes of the 1st, 3rd and 5th year syllabus.
